Carlos Reis building refurbishment

The refurbishment and expansion of a traditional Portuguese two-storey building, built in the 20s of last century with two floors, consists on a larger flat and the transformation of an old store into a residential flat on the ground floor. This project aims to rehabilitate two distinct flats with two existing divisions, reformulating the entire interior, using the original form. The rear façade had a closed balcony that was replaced by an elevation creating a beautiful balcony that changed the visual image compared to the original. This balcony will have new stainless steel and wood sliding doors for more privacy.

The main façade will be covered with traditional 10x10cm tiles having a light green color, this solution was created to help and improve the durability, as well as the cleaning of the materials placed in the building, reminding the original and typical tiles of Lisbon that have been used for centuries ‘.
