Carlos Reis building refurbishment

Renovation and extension of a two-storey building from the 1920s, located in Avenidas Novas, Lisbon.

The project involves the addition of a duplex floor and the change of use of the ground-floor shop into residential space. The existing T2 residential units will be completely redesigned.

The main façade will be preserved, while at the rear, the enclosed balconies (marquises) will be removed, resulting in a cleaner elevation and restoring the original balcony design, now featuring new sliding shutters in galvanised steel and pine wood for added privacy.

The entire main façade will be rendered in its original colour and waterproofed to improve the durability of the materials, evoking the traditional architecture typically found in Lisbon.

The building will comprise three one-bedroom (T1) apartments, with the top floor being a two-bedroom (T2) duplex.
