Flor do Tejo Building

Located on the Plateau of the city of Santarém, the Flor do Tejo Building, on Rua Lousada Rodrigues, offers a spectacular panoramic view of the Lezíria do Tejo and the Fonte da Junqueira, one of the few surviving fountains strategically placed along the sidewalks leading to the plateau.

With an implantation area of 864 sqm, the L-shaped architecture of the building establishes a direct connection with the surrounding environment, with facades composed of large, cut and undulating balconies, inspired by the natural structure of the Planalto Scalabitano. The combination of mathematical, geometrical, and biotechnical architectural forms with free forms was a challenge that resulted in the modern architecture of the building. The chosen materials were essential for the desired result, highlighting the structure, the undulating and cut facades, the interaction with light (color, visual illusion, reflection, and specular reflection).

The building consists of 3 blocks, each with different housing typologies distributed over 3 floors, with the 4th and last floor set back. There are a total of 20 apartments, with typologies ranging from T2 to T5. All apartments have large balconies, with ground floor apartments having a private backyard.

The L-shaped layout of the building revolves around a private courtyard with a large pool and leisure spaces (bar and barbecue) for use by the condominium. The balconies, all very spacious and equipped with seating and barbecue areas, allow residents to enjoy panoramic views to the south and their private outdoor space.
